Job Listing: CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

JOB OVERVIEW

The Children’s Ministry Director oversees the children’s ministry. Accountable for introducing our children to Jesus Christ and providing a program to help children grow in their walk with Christ. Recruit, train and develop volunteers to teach and lead our children to Christ and learn to walk out their faith. To come alongside parents in the teaching and training of God’s principles. Lastly, to communicate effectively with the pastors, church staff, parents, church body, and the kids.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

65% - Weekly Children’s Ministry responsibilities: Schedule teachers and volunteers, provide curriculum for all ages, room maintenance, communicate with parents, oversee worship service, and other weekly duties.

20% - Oversee Children's Ministry events such as Vacation Bible School, Children’s Christmas Program, and misc family events, which includes organizing, sign ups, budgeting, lay out, set up, tear down, and advertise).

15% - Misc. Director Duties: Meetings, planning, budgeting, set-up, maintenance, counseling, background checks, and meeting with volunteers


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for ministry to the children and families of the church

  • Oversee Children’s Ministry Assistant and volunteers

  • Oversee Grades Nursery-6th grade & Special Needs Class.

  • Implement Curriculum that is Scriptural based, doctrinally and Biblically sound, with an Evangelical emphasis

  • Plan, publicize, and communicate all upcoming Children & Family events

  • Work with graphic team to create graphics for church services, events, and social media

  • Oversee Children’s Ministry Social Media Accounts

  • Provide opportunities for children to be directly involved in missions and ministry – both locally and outside the community.

  • Train and equip and schedule teachers and volunteers for weekly services and special events

  • Plan and oversee VBS. (Every summer)

  • Train, recruit, and oversee children’s ministry worship AV team

  • Regular youth leader meetings to go over the calendar, concerns, direction, and vision

  • Plan Teacher Training Meetings and yearly Appreciation Dinner

  • Oversee and manage Children’s Ministry Finances (making purchases, deposits, budgeting, balancing)

  • Weekly meetings with Youth Pastor and Children’s Ministry Assistant to go over ministry needs, vision, direction, concerns, and events

  • Handle SendHope Monthly 

  • General Record Keeping: Computer work of masters, policies, etc.

  • General yard maintenance

  • Assists pastoral team with the vision and direction for the church and events

    

Weekly Hours:  21.5hr       |       Reports to: Youth Pastor      |       Direct Reports: Children’s Ministry Assistant
