Could I be a Pharisee? I asked the Lord one morning,
Can I sit the hypocrite? I better heed this warning.
For, we all have this tendency, I know I must address it.
And come to see what God shows me, then quickly to confess it.
If looking good on Sunday, is all an outward show,
Folks see your life on Monday, pretense has got to go!
If our motivation’s wrong our religion ain’t worth a dime.
WE don’t practice what we’re preaching all the time.
A heart in love with Jesus, is sincere and pre, unmixed.
So, let’s major on what’s inside, and the outside will be fixed.
Whenever the heart is turned to the Lord, the veil will be taken away.
White will be white, and black will be black, there will be no shades of grey.
With unveiled face we will behold the glory of the Lord.
The Word says we will then reflect, the One we’re looking toward.
We’ll be transparent and transformed, from self we will be free.
From glory unto glory and His image all will see.
Oh hallelujah, praise the Lord. I’m worried? Not one bit!
When I am one with Jesus, I’m no more the hypocrite.
